I wanna start to lose weight?

i am 13 years old. and i wanna look different by the time school starts. i am 14 and i am around 5"5" and i weigh around 180. i know. really over weight. i wanna loose 1-2 pds a week. how many calories should i have?

about 1500 calories a day. And make sure to get 30 min of exercise - it's the exercise that really helps the weight loss.
Realize that you NEED to exercise as well. I'm not sure about calories, but make sure you eat absolutely no junk food and that your meals are healthy.
This is an old grand-ma trick but this one, it really works! First of all, try to eat more! Since you can't just not eat for 1 month, eat low-fat ice-cream every night!!

I am not sure on the calories that you need. But to lose your weight. You need to exercise and watch what you eat.

Mimi is right...1500-1800 calories today...and a little bit of exercise. Don't be surprised if you lose more at first and then it slows down. Drink lots of water (that will keep you from slowing down) and be sure to take a vitamin every day.
Also, take up swimming to complement the dieting. Swimming shouldn't hurt your knees like jogging might.
OMG your in the same situation as me, i wanna go into school with a bang and for people to be really surprised! ive been on a diet but i keep breaking it but i still lose up to 3-4 pounds a week, i just exercise for an hour and a half 3 or 4 times a week and drink 3 litres of water a day...i weigh 170 pounds and am sick of feelin heavy and bloated..but the exercise really helps..dont starve yourself, just run or power walk a few times a week and eat lots of veg and fruit..and try an pinpoint whats causing your weight gain, whatever it is, cut it out and replace it with an orange or an apple...just focus on what people are gonna think when you go into school skinnier! everyone will be so proud so keep workin hunni! you can do it!
