I would LOVE to hear success stories from woman who have gotten pregnant naturally with PCOS??

Please.
I was just diagnosed with PCOS back in April, my husband and I have been trying to conceive for over a year now with no luck ( i am 21 years old)..
I have no symtpoms of PCOS other than irregular cycles, i do not experience weight problems( i'm 5'3, 108lbs),no facial/body hair,no acne, nor do i have cysts on my ovaries...All i have is elevated testosterone levels and high estrogen levels. Also i have been spotting every day since the beginning of April so i guess you could say i have been spotting for three months straight, though i think i might have started my period today but it could be messing with me..I had alot of red blood today but my cycle has done that befor, it lasted maybe an hour then the spotting went back to brown.
(I'M NOT ON ANY TYPE OF BIRTH CONTROL, hubby and i want to have a baby)
My doctor wants to put me on metformin though i have to get a hysteroscopy and an HSG befor hand which i can't afford the procedures at the moment..

Hi! There is a great site called www.soulcysters.net where you can post questions and read them from THOUSANDS of women with PCOS.

PCOS in it's most basic terms is a hormone imbalance and way low progesterone is usually the culprit. I'd see a naturopathic doctor who would probably put you on progesterone so you could acheive pregnancy...ODDLY...most mainstream OBGYNs either ignore how much women need progesterone, dont' know about it (which is a scary thought!) or don't care about their patients. I had THREE that knew I was low progesterone and refused to give it to me until I got pregnant.uhhh...duh, wake up doctor...progesterone is what causes your body to ovulate and since I don't, how can I get prego? GGGrrrrrrr... :)

There are many natural reproductive doctors around that could help you and their protocols are safer, more reliable and better for you as well. They have 80 percent success rates compared to IVF type stuff.which sits at 20 percent.

Metformin made me sick. And I didn't lose weight until I found the ND.

Good luck! :)
I did, I did! I have always had abnormal periods and facial hair, but no dr. could ever explain why. I was finally diagnosed with PCOS in '04 and put on Metformin. Within a year or so, I lost 42 pounds, stopped getting acne, and started having more regular periods (every 5 weeks or so instead of twice a year). However, I still couldn't get pregnant. My husband and I have been trying for almost 5 years. I took several rounds of Clomid and had three IUI's last fall, all to no avail. I was very discouraged and considering adoption. We finally started seeing a fertility specialist in January of this year. She recommended injectibles and more IUI's before considering IVF (which I wasn't willing to do). I had my labs done in Feb., and all came back normal, so they said to call when I got my next period and...I never got it! Miraculously, I ended up pregnant without any medical intervention. I'm now 19 weeks along and expecting a boy in the middle of November. I'm still in shock since I had figured it would never happen for us. All I can say is, take the Metformin, don't go on birth control, and see what happens. It's really hard not to get discouraged, but miracles do happen! Everyone kept telling me to relax, and I thought that was bull***, but it worked. As soon as we started seeing the specialist, I relaxed and got pregnant. Best of luck!
